Types of services

These consultations include support with feeding (nursing and/or supplementing) as well as pumping support. A custom flange fitting is included in this session.

Prenatal consultations, typically scheduled after 34 weeks of pregnancy, are provided in the office.

Asheville Lactation carries a wide variety of flange sizes and shapes as well as inserts. When available, a set of flanges is included in the cost of this consult for new clients (or returning clients who have yet to receive a set).
Extra flange sets and pumping supplies are available for purchase.

We have additional training to help families with nursing babies who would like support introducing bottles or helping their infants take a bottle smoothly.
Note: If you are exclusively formula feeding, please reach out to us to determine if insurance will cover your care.
Expect these consultations to take 1-2 hours.

For established clients, Asheville Lactation Consulting has breast pumps available to rent on a daily or monthly basis.

Weight check appointments for established clients only. They last about 30 minutes and do not include feeding or pumping support.

Infant scale rentals are available for established clients only.

Asheville Lactation Consulting is located in the Nettlewood Professional Park, off of Hendersonville Road, just south of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Parking is readily available; the office is on the ground floor.

Check that you meet the home visit criteria below. Reach out via text to determine the availability for in-home care.
Home visits:
are limited to families living within a 10-mile distance from the office at 64 Peachtree Road
are limited to families with babies younger than 14 days of age or for those discharged from the NICU within the past 14 days
incur a $50 convenience fee that cannot be run through insurance
are offered only for initial and follow-up lactation/feeding consultations

Virtual consultations are available for established clients.
Note: Not all insurance companies cover virtual care.
